Wow were is the term going? Time is flying away. Busy is the word that sums every part of life at the moment. So much stuff happening at work and outside of work. Its wonderful watch young people grow over the course of the year. They change from timid youngsters into confident young people finding their way. These times can be challenging for them but also have huge rewards. I’m truly lucky to be able to be a part of that.

As I watch the students grow I also am surprised with how much I have learnt and am developing in my role. As you get older we can sometimes slip into a comfort zone. I am so pleased that in my job I am forever being challenged. It really makes you feel alive.

On a personal note, my boys are amazing and last night while I was doing work my youngest who is 12 was in the kitchen preparing spring rolls and dumplings from scratch. I love how they are using the skills in the kitchen that I have taught them. This is also why I am in the job I do because there is nothing more satisfying than watching young people develop and do things they thought they couldn’t do.

This term so far has been so busy but in a great way. It is the end of week 3 already. There is so much happening around the school that there seems to be a real buzz to everyone’s step. I feel like I have found my place and it is great to have sense of belonging. The time I spend down in the kitchen in Kia would have to be one of my favorite places to be.

Wednesdays Big Projects is full on with the kids complying of  a cook book so lots of information is been sought and trying out the recipes that they have received are getting cooked so we can try them out before they go into the cook book.

Nice to hear the lunch time concert yesterday, so many talented kids.
